This is my second Piel backpack. My new bag is virtually identical in shape, size, construction details and quality to the original and I have every expectation of using it for 20+ years. The leather is excellent quality, firm without being stiff; dye is consistent throughout, stitching is tight, lining is perfectly inserted with no wrinkles or weird bulgy spots. Hardware is quality, zippers are heavy-duty and double-stitched for durability. My first Piel is retiring to backup status after 20+ years of daily service because the main zipper has gotten a little unreliable. My Piel backpack is the perfect size for my EDC: in the main comparment I carry a small cosmetic/toiletries bag, my big-a** sunglasses hard case, work gloves and a small flashlight - with room to spare for a snack. The larger outside zip pocket is perfect for my phone (every phone I've had during the past 23 years including the current "phablet") and charging cables. The small outside pocket is an accordian-style two-way zip pocket that's perfect for a utility knife and a tube of lip balm, along with my work ID badge and access card. There's a little zip pocket in the main compartment where I keep my car key fob and a little plastic card holder containing emergency cash and my emergency contact info. You can rig it as a backpack, for shoulder carry, or for high cross-body carry for security.I've had other bags over the years but none of them compared to my Piel backpack in terms of utility or value for money. You want this bag, you need this bag - so buy this bag!
