First of all, this hair does appear to be human. It is soft. The colors are beautiful. It can be heat styled, colored, and cut. When you get this, I would strongly suggest trimming it, as the ends are quite thin and frayed, unfortunately. The thing that bothered me the most about this, the reason I returned it, is that the clip is so small it didn't attach to my real hair. It looked very unnatural on me. I wouldn't recommend it unless you have very thin or fine hair.
