I had already bought a black Blunt umbrella, one of the first to come out, before I bought this one. Unfortunately, I left it behind in the shuttle bus at my job and it magically disappeared when I went asking for it. Not that I blame whoever took it. It is beautiful, well made, easy to open and close, and sturdy.I decided, however, that my next Blunt umbrella would be a bright color, to ensure I do not forget it again in the bus. A friend already has the red one, so I decided on this yellow one. Other than the color, which I like very much, this yellow Blunt is exactly like my old black one. Which is a very good thing indeed. And, although it is not as windproof as I'd hoped (it is very windy where I work and one day, coming in to work, a gust of wind turned it inside out), I have to say it is also very sturdy. Because all I did was put it back in its original state and nothing seemed to be broken or lose after that experience. So, while I cannot give it 5 stars, because it did turn inside out on me, Id give it 4 1/2 if I could, because in every other respect it is an exceptional umbrella.Umbrella looked promising, until I saw that every stretcher was snapped off. The part you use to open it wasn't even connected. Not sure how many of these get sent out like this, but it seems like it is a lot more than it should be. The durability of these umbrellas seem questionable and I wonder if many buyers will change their outlook after a year of use.A very well designed umbrella. I've been looking for an umbrella for some time that has plastic coated support ends because the round beaded metal ends mark up automobile roof and door paint when getting in and out of your car. The BLUNT umbrella has ends that are, well, blunt—there are no protruding metal or plastic ends because there are no support ends. This umbrella also has the fastest drying material I've ever seen. I got out of my car the other day, opened this umbrella, hit it with my blower for a minute and it was dry enough to put away in my car. I've also left it to dry by itself and I would estimate it was fully dry in less than 10 minutes—astounding. The only feature I'd like is push-button opening, however, with an umbrella of this size, I guess that would require a very heavy spring. On Day 2 of use, the handle fell off upon opening. It FELL off. This was not an occasion where I could tell that I was exerting too much force. I was exerting the minimal force necessary to OPEN the umbrella (i.e. use it). And it FELL off. This was not an occasion where a large gust of wind caught the umbrella and the sudden exertion of meteorological conditions brought the umbrella to its breaking point. No. This was opening the umbrella. And it FELL off.If I could simply snap the handle back on, I would still return the umbrella but I would likely chalk it up to being a defective unit. However, the handle could not even be snapped back into place. Instead, the handle's absence revealed the shoddy construction that I suspect is consistent among all units. This umbrella is truly overpriced garbage. It most certainly is not "Strong & ... Built to Last" as represented. The merchant's representation that it is "Light," however, is accurate. Probably because it is made of garbage.Make sure to save the box to make the return easier. This product is hand down the best umbrella ever. I bought the camo color. It's TRUE camo. The color in the picture isn't accurate. It looks like woodland in the picture, but it not. The photo didn't capture the green accurately. I really like it. This umbrella would be awesome in the wilderness. 6 stars!I've had all kinds of experiences with umbrellas, and this one wins. I'd recently purchased (and promptly returned) a WindPro umbrella that turned into a portable birdbath after five steps in mild winds. When I received this umbrella I knew from the moment I picked it up that it was solid and strong. It took a little more effort to open than other umbrellas do, but the force required to lock it out keeps it from inverting in strong winds. I can't say I've had it in hurricane winds yet, but the storms it's weathered thus far leave me confident that it'll stand up to a gale. The blunt tips are also quite nice, since I tend to walk with the family and don't want to put any eyes out. This is a great umbrella, bot functionally and stylistically!I like the rugged construction and I like that so far the wind has not flipped it inside out. One thing that has been a very small problem but nothing that cannot be easily overcome is fitting it back into its canvas sleeve. Seems like if it gets wet and then dried out it tends to puff it up a little bit making it a little more challenging to get it back into its sleeve.Very clean and dressy looking and I was concerned it might not not be as indestructible as I was hoping. In fact a high wind advisory storm came through. It blew rain almost sideways. The Blunt umbrella held up excellently! These are terrific brollies, the most durable and wind proof I've ever discovered. Fantastic quality and feel, and this was only bought to replace my last one of 6 years, which I left on a train and has never been returned. I was delighted to find a 'Tile' tracker pocket on this later version too, which meant I could put one of those in place to hopefully stop me losing another !Honestly, if you've never tried a Blunt before, please research them and go for it !Only comment is that the 'XL' version is only a fraction more, and is significantly largely. XL is like a normal Golf umbrella, this one is perfect for one but a close squeeze for two colleagues, fine for a couple.Already owned a Blunt Metro (compact) and very pleased; Bought the 'classic' for occasions when i need a larger canopy (at the expense of having a bulkier brolley, though i also bought the optional shoulder strap too).In the past i've owned other brands which claim 'windproof' and they are, right upto the point they break; usually the complex under canopy ribbing starts to snap; this has not been an issue with the Blunt. It's expensive yes, but prepare yourself for feeling you don't mind the rain anymore ..My partner wanted this for his birthday, no corners or spikes ends means no one gets poked in the eye on walks. Very sturdy, survived strong winds and torrential downpour, was a good investment. Is a large gold umbrella of the right height for walking and can easily be carried on trips out around townI have had one for about 6 months. Unfortunately I left it somewhere and couldn't find it. I had no hesitation in buying another Blunt umbrella. It's as good as any golfing umbrella except that it's black and slightly smaller, so suitable for using in the town and on pavements. I can highly recommend this umbrella. Worth every penny.A good sturdy umbrella, nice and bright colour, not prone to break at the tips like most umbrellas.Expensive though, but hopefully will last much longer than most.
